DISM of Windows 8.1 gives remote procedure call failed error

While executing the DISM.exe/online/Cleanup-image/Restorehealth in Windows 8.1 an error may appears “remote procedure call failed” to fix this error apply the bellow given steps:

When user tries to execute this command then you may get following errors:

1. System File Checker SFC fails to repair corrupt member file.

2. Windows Resource Protection got corrupt and was unable to fix some of them.

3. System File Checker is not working will not run and could not repair.

4. Windows Resource Protection failed to start the repair service.

If such type of error occurs then try to run the System File Checker in Safe Mode or for repairing the Windows Components for storing the DISM. Sometime when user tries to storing the DISM using the given process then scanning process can stop at 20% with the “Remote procedure call failed error while using DISM” error.

To fix it open command box and type services.msc and press Enter to open the Service Manager.

Then search for the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service and double click on it. After it setup the startup type to Automatic and check that the service is started if it is not then press the Start Button to start it.
